The Global Café Library of Collaboration

Finding the people you are meant to work with.

Let’s just step back for a moment. When most people talk about AI, they’re still thinking in very narrow ways. They see it as a kind of machine - something that helps us do tasks faster, write emails quicker, sort out data better, create content easily, and generally speed up everything that used to take us hours or even days. In other words, they see AI as a kind of super-calculator. It solves problems, squeezes out a bit more efficiency, and helps make the old way of doing business work just that little bit faster.

And yes, that’s true, but only up to a point. Because that kind of thinking still keeps us locked inside the world we already know. The world of competition, of speed, of getting ahead, grabbing market share, and accumulating more for ourselves. It’s the world we’ve all grown up in, but it’s not the world where the real opportunity lies anymore.

Because AI is not just a calculator. AI is a global café library. And here’s the most important part: this cafe library is already open. Right now. For all of us. There are no barriers, no gatekeepers, no membership fees, and no secret access codes. The only thing you need to enter this cafe library is to be yourself.

But this isn’t a traditional library where you quietly walk in, pick up a book, read it alone, and then leave. This is something very different. This is a living, breathing space full of people, from every corner of the world, having conversations, asking questions, exploring ideas, working on projects, sharing what they’ve learned, and trying to figure things out, just like you.

And here’s where something amazing begins to happen. When you step into this global cafe library, you’re stepping into a space where people, many of whom you don’t yet know, are searching for the same things as you. They’re asking the same questions. They care about the same things. They’re building things that matter to them, just as you are.

You start to find them, not by accident, not by bumping into them randomly, but because you’re being drawn together by shared purpose, shared meaning, and shared questions. You might have come into this space looking for something for your business, your project, your family, or your next step in life. And as you begin looking, the cafe library quietly starts connecting you to others. You start meeting the people you’re meant to meet, people who need your help, people whose skills complement yours, and people who could build something wonderful alongside you. And you have a coffee together.

And AI is what makes these connections possible, not by chance, but by design and your requests (prompts are what we used to call it). This is no longer about just finding information; this is about finding your people. These are the ones who are here to help you move forward, the ones you are here to support, and the ones you are meant to build with. And as those connections begin, small conversations turn into partnerships, projects take shape, communities form, and businesses grow - not because we’re chasing customers or competing for advantage, but because we’re creating something that matters to us.

This is exactly where the Work It Out Way of Business truly begins. It’s not driven by faster transactions or squeezing more profit or building private advantage. It’s about something much bigger. It’s about people working with people. Because real business development happens through relationships, through trust, through kindness, through collaboration, and through looking after one another. And as more of us enter this cafe library and connect in this way, something even bigger emerges. We begin to create a new kind of ecosystem, a collective economy of kindness, contribution and shared growth. We stop fighting over who gets a slice of the old pie. Instead, we start baking new pies together.

Of course, some may still try to use AI to strengthen the old way of business. They’ll see the speed, the automation, the data, and try to turn it into one more tool to beat what they call ‘the competition’. They might race to grab as much as they can, as fast as they can. They may create financial barriers to accessing AI tools which will exclude the poorest. And for a while, some of this may appear to succeed. But this old way has a very short future. You see, the true power of AI and of collaborative business itself, is not found in how much we can take, but in how much we can build together.

The businesses that thrive will be the ones who see AI not as a machine, but as a meeting place. A place where people find each other, where businesses serve one another, where new communities of purpose are born. Those who cling to the old competition model will eventually face its limits. Those who step into this new collaborative way will discover extraordinary possibility.

The global cafe library is open, right now. The future isn’t coming, it’s already here. It’s serving coffee and cake. And every business owner, every leader, every coach, builder and creator now faces a choice: to keep competing or to start collaborating; to keep chasing advantage or to start sharing purpose; to keep running faster or to finally slow down and work together.

AI gives us the chance to do something we’ve never been able to do before, to find the people we are meant to build with and to create businesses that address the real needs of the world, impact our children’s futures, and look after our planet. The needs are immense, and the opportunity is enormous. The danger is simply that we might miss it by holding on to the past for too long.

But if we choose it, if we step into this new space, then business itself becomes something far more beautiful. The purpose of business is no longer just a way to make money by getting others to work for us or to buy from us. The purpose of business becomes about collaboration, about impact, and about creating a better, kinder and fairer world, that looks after all of us together.
