Work it Out Worldwide

Bring Work It Out to Your Country

Building a Global Movement for Work, Opportunity and Community

The world is changing.   Youth unemployment remains high in many countries.  Economic inactivity continues to rise.   Artificial Intelligence is transforming industries and jobs.   Millions of people are uncertain about their future.

At the same time, governments, educational institutions, employers and community organisations are searching for practical solutions that help people build confidence, develop skills, create opportunities and participate fully in society.

We can help.  Welcome to Work It Out.

A Global Challenge Requires a New Solution

Youth unemployment, economic inactivity and workforce transition are no longer local issues. They are global challenges affecting almost every country in the world.   Whilst governments continue to invest billions in employment programmes, training schemes and welfare systems, millions of people remain disconnected from work, education, opportunity and meaningful participation. The challenge is becoming even more urgent.

Artificial Intelligence, automation, demographic change, mental health pressures and changing attitudes towards work are reshaping labour markets at a pace few policymakers could have imagined only a decade ago.  The result is a growing need for new approaches that focus not simply on jobs, but on helping people build sustainable futures.

This is where Work It Out offers something fundamentally different.

The Scale of the Global Challenge

According to the International Labour Organization (ILO), approximately 65 million young people worldwide are unemployed.   More significantly, around 20% of all young people globally are classified as NEETs (Not in Employment, Education or Training), representing approximately 260 million young people worldwide.

Young people are still more than twice as likely to be unemployed as adults.   In many countries, the situation is becoming increasingly challenging as entry-level jobs disappear and employers demand greater experience, resilience, adaptability and digital capability.

The challenge is not confined to developing nations.   Many advanced economies are experiencing significant difficulties.  We really are all in this together.  Recent figures indicate  for example,

- Spain continues to experience youth unemployment levels approaching 24%.
- Sweden has youth unemployment above 24%.
- Finland has youth unemployment above 23%.
- Chile exceeds 22%.
- The UK currently stands at approximately 16%, with nearly one million young people classified as NEET.
- China continues to experience youth unemployment rates approaching 17%.
- Many regions of India report youth unemployment rates above 30%.
 - In South Africa, overall unemployment exceeds 30%, with youth unemployment considerably higher.

The challenge is global and it is one that Work it Out is determined to support.

The End of Traditional Employment Thinking

For decades, employment policy has focused primarily on three questions:   How do we help people find jobs?
How do we train people for jobs?   and   How do we move people from welfare into jobs?

These remain important questions.   However, they may no longer be sufficient.   The future is increasingly characterised by:
• Multiple careers rather than one career
• A series of Workpieces (Portfolio working) rather than traditional employment
• Self-employment and micro-enterprises
• Project-based work
• AI-assisted work
• Remote and international work
• Lifelong reskilling
• Greater personal responsibility for career development

The question therefore, becomes:   How do we help people build their future regardless of how work changes?
This is the question that Work It Out seeks to answer.

What Is Work It Out?

Work It Out is a practical community-based methodology designed to help people build sustainable futures.

Rather than focusing solely on finding jobs, Work It Out helps individuals to build their confidence,  develop supportive relationships, identify their strengths,   create practical workpieces, explore opportunities, generate income, develop future-focused skills, support others and contribute positively to their communities.

At the heart of the model is a simple belief that people are more likely to succeed when they work together than when they struggle alone.

For over twenty years, the Work It Out methodology has been helping people move forward through encouragement, collaboration, kindness and shared responsibility.

A Different Way Forward

Most employment programmes focus on jobs, whereas Work It Out focuses on people and relationships.    Many programmes focus on what people can't do.   Work It Out focuses on possibilities. And where most programmes focus on individual performance,   Work It Out is more interested in collective success.

It's not just "How do we help people find work?" It's  "How do we help people build their futures?"

Our Global Vision

The challenges facing people today are global.   The need for practical solutions is universal.

Rather than building a large central organisation, we are creating a global network of licensed partners who can adapt and deliver the Work It Out methodology within their own countries and communities.

Our vision is to create the world's largest community-based network helping people build sustainable futures.

Who are we working with?
