'Peer Group Working' Methodology
The 'Peer Group Working' Methodology is a group development approach which is driven by the principles of inclusion, empowerment and responsibility for others. Recognising and building individual strengths, positivity, kindness and collaboration are at the heart of the Work it Out! methodology.
Work it Out! programmes support career development, organisational effectiveness, enterprise development, inclusion and integration, community cohesion, culture change, problem solving, peace building, partnership working, etc. Work It Out! with its acclaimed 'Peer Group Working' Methodology has delivered incredible outcomes for individuals in finding meaningful work, earning income, designing alternative career models, looking after each other and achieving all that is important to us.
More than this though, Work it Out! is a highly effective inclusion and empowerment methodology to support the priorities of Businesses, Government Agencies and Local Councils. We work collaboratively to build innovative, bottom-up and effective organisations/networks of all sizes and types. The application of the Work it Out! Methodology is available wherever you are based. It offers new ways of bringing people together to leverage their collective experience and expertise - to tackle poverty and disadvantage, harness potential, promote inclusion, improve profitability and drive economic growth.
The Work It Out! 'Peer Group Working' methodology was created by Des McCabe in his best-selling book 'Work It Out! - How to find the work you always wanted in a shifting jobs market' (Hay House, 2011) and made popular through his widely acclaimed and inspirational half-day Work It Out! workshops.
Together with his colleague Jimmy Ryan, they have delivered this training internationally to over 21,000 people to date, whilst thousands more have transformed their futures through Work It Out! 'Peer Group Working' programs and initiatives.
Community support - working with local people, groups and funding partners
We design, build and deliver bespoke Work it Out! programmes to address specific problems or needs in collaboration with our Host partners and organisations.
Our Host partners are not just funders! They help us to clarify the specific needs to be addressed and support the development of linkages (so we are not re-inventing the wheel). This ensures that Work it Out! initiatives quickly become embedded as part of the local social and economic fabric.
Our Host partners know the change that they wish to bring about and together we design initiatives to deliver this. As one local community manager said to us recently 'If we keep doing what we’ve always done, we're going to keep getting the same results. We need fresh thinking and a much more joined up approach.'
Contact Jimmy Ryan, Programme Director for Ireland on 086 259 7275 or drop him an email at [email protected] - for more information on our initiatives in County Waterford and County Tipperary.. Perhaps we can work together to design a pilot initiative in your area.....
